Our Team was privileged to spend the day with Helping Up Mission, an organization which works to provide hope to people experiencing homelessness, poverty, or addiction. Helping Up Mission’s Overnight Guest Services provides a night of shelter for men experiencing homelessness. Overnight guests receive a bed for the night, two full hot meals, toiletries for showering, and clean clothes. The organization also provides their Spiritual Recovery Program, which is a one-year residential program for men fighting addiction and homelessness.
The MWA Team enjoyed a tour of the facilities, which was hosted by current members of the program. We were fortunate to spend time getting to know some of these men, and learning about their individual journeys and goals. We enjoyed preparing and serving meals to those who are benefiting from their services. We are also working as a Team to provide crucially needed clothing and toiletry items to the shelter.
